Lázaro was born in 1943 in Havana, Cuba.
In 1959 he began painting at the private workshop of his father, Anastasio Hondares,
an artist painter.
From 1970 to 2013 he has also taken part in more than seventy national and international collective shows, he held his first personal art exhibition at the 23Y12 Art Center: entitled: Art by Hondares. Lázaro was a member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
1982-2000, he was Art Director of the weekly cultural magazine Cartelera.
Since 2006, he has been living in Louisville, KY,
2009-2013- Receive support from Kentucky Refugees Ministry and Catholic Chartries to publicize their artwork.
Education: 1970- He studied at the National School of Art Design in Havana Cuba.
Charity: Camp Heart to Heart:
2013- Painting donated his work: Horses Brothers (Acrylic on Canvas) at the Kentucky Refugee Ministries in the Global Gourmet Silent, to raise money for programs to help immigrant families.
2012- Painting donated his work: Winter in KY (Mixed Media) at the Kentucky Refugee Ministries in the Global Gourmet Silent, to raise money for programs to help immigrant families.
2010- Lazaro donated his work Spring Horses (acrylic on canvas) at the Beaux Art Ball for the charity?s AIDS Patients Fund Raising Auction held at the Louisville Marriott.
